Not all relationships require all three R’s to function at a reasonable level. In some relationships, reliability is essential, but we can live without the respect. For example, I would prefer the man putting new tires on my car to be respectful, but it is more important that he be reliable.
Or, my brain surgeon may be a total ass, but that’s not the part of me on which he’s going to operate....
